About Lakelander Design

It has been a long road getting here…… Lakelander Design Ltd was formed in 2021 by Chris Melling-Sawicki MRICS. 

Chris, a Chartered Building Surveyor, grew up in Grange over Sands, South Cumbria. 
After always having a passion for Cumbria and the Lake District, Chris eventually moved back to the area in 2013, having spent 13 years working in Manchester and Liverpool for national building surveying practices. From 2016, Chris worked for a Cumbrian based surveying practice largely working on refurbishing and repairing National Trust properties.

Lakelander Design Ltd was formed following a long standing desire to set up a practice providing both sympathetic and contemporary building design to the local Cumbrian building market.

Irrespective of size of value, each and every project is designed to meet the needs of the Client, and add value to the local property market.

We cater for a full range of projects , ranging from small residential conversions and extensions up to large new build, and have an excellent record of getting planning approvals.

A great support network of various consultants, including engineers and ecologists, ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.
